Nokia had a problem, they missed the boat on smart phones. With the launch of their own smartphone they asked us to bring back the name Nokia in the minds of dutch retailers. They were visited by Nokia girls who dropped of a gift box, with a memory game and 4 folders inside. The personnel would have to study this material, which focussed on the latest Nokia model, because in a couple of weeks someone would drop by to question them about their Nokia knowledge. Answering these questions correctly meant they were in the running for the main prize.
To keep attention on the brand alive, we made a Nokia calendar to hang in the personnel area of the store. This Nokia calendar focussed on the history and importance of Nokia and each month showed a different milestone in Nokia’s history. The first mobile phone, the first widely used mobile game, the first phone as a fashion accessory etc.
A great project for which I did the design of the flyers, box, memory game and did the retouching and general imagery work for the calendar.
For the Betweters we launched an absurd campaign, with both the hosts of the weekly video column dressed in sexy latex. The gents were joined by model Ancilla Tilia, famous for being exactly that, a model. And a fetish model at that. This resulted in a hilarious photoshoot with the results posted below. This campaign was rolled out to Boomerang cards, print ads and posters.
Back in 2010, I contacted Greg Broadmore, a designer at Weta in New Zealand and the man behind Dr. Grordbort’s, to see if he would welcome a redesign of the website. He did indeed and thus started my work for him and Weta indirectly. To see the website, head on over to www.drgrordborts.com.
